Ores

What are ores, really? Do we truly mine ores, or do the ores mine us? Sources say no, that's stupid. But I say that mining for ore is a spiritual experience. The swing of the pick, the sweat on your back, and the satisfying pop as the ore is sucked into your inventory...truly magnificent. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. Get me a tissue

What?[]

The ores of RSMC will spawn similarly to that of regular Minecraft ores with the more common ones spawning at higher y values and requiring the player to dig deep for the more sought after and higher level requirement ores. An important note is that ores in RSMC do NOT deplete after they are mined. They will wait a certain amount of time based on the ore and will respawn to be mined again. If there is an ore in a spot you do not like you may mine the ore (meaning that you must meet the mining requirement to break said ore) and then while sneaking break the block again after it is depleted which will remove the ore block entirely.

As of right now, blocks can not be mined with silk touch and moved to more convenient places.

Copper and Tin[]

Copper and tin both have a mining level requirement of 0 to mine, making them the starting ores that a new player will have access to. They will both grant 17.5 exp per ore mined and can be combined in a smithy to make a bronze bar with a 1:1:1 ratio. These ores spawn below Y 128 and are incredibly common.

Essence Ore[]

Essence Ore does not spawn, instead being found within the Rune Essence dimension. Within snowy biomes can be found a glowing portal. Right clicking on this portal teleports the player into the dimension. No need to be concerned about threats or preparation. There are no hostile creatures in this dimension, only four spires of essence that can be mined. There are four return portals that work the same as the entry portal, returning the player to where they were in the overworld. Essence Ore can be mined at level 0 Mining.

Silver Ore[]

Silver Ore can be mined at 19 Mining and is used in making Jewelry and white metal. Smelting the ore alone nets its associated bar. Smelting the ore with a steel bar results in a white bar, which is just slightly better than the steel on its own. Silver Jewelry is made with a gem, silver bar, and mould in a smelter, so long as you have the required crafting level. Silver Ore spawns below Y 64.

Gold Ore[]

Gold Ore can be mined at 40 Mining and is used in making Jewelry. Smelting the ore results in a gold bar, which can be used in the same manner as silver ore to make gold Jewelry with the required crafting level. Gold Ore spawns below Y 64.

Mithril Ore[]

Mithril ore is a mid-tier ore, requiring 45 Mining. Smelting a bar of mithril will require 4 coal, two higher than steel before it. The ore is uncommon, spawning below Y 48. Finding a nice cave will likely net finding a few clusters.

Adamant Ore[]

Adamanite Ore is the third rarest ore and requires 60 Mining. To be smelted into a bar, this will require 6 coal, another step up from Mithril. Though not as powerful as Runite, equipment made from this material breaches just over 2000 durability. You'll need it. The ore will only spawn below Y 32.

Runite Ore[]

Runite Ore is rare, powerful, and requires 75 Mining to be mined. Much like in Runescape, this ore has a considerable respawn time. Smelting into a bar requires 8 coal. This adds up, make sure to prepare plenty of coal ahead of time if intending to make use of this powerful material. This ore spawns below Y 16.

Dragon Ore[]

Dragon Ore is incredibly rare, spawning below Y 0 and requiring 90 Mining. With its rarity, the material is exceptionally powerful. Armor, weapons, and tools made of this material are unbreakable and boast incredible stats. However, smelting the ore requires 18 of itself to net a single bar. In addition to the steep material cost, the respawn time is approximately 20 minutes. Don't expect to find very much of this.
